Being Positive About HIV AIDS
The prevention of HIV/AIDS is one of the focus areas of the 46664 campaign, and it can be disheartening to read sobering statistics such as Washington, DC having an AIDS rate that rivals some parts of Africa.
However, there are thousands of HIV/AIDS activists dedicating their efforts to making a difference and we thought we’d focus this newsletter on the more upbeat news and web sites showing hope in the battle against HIV/AIDS. We like to think of all the 46664 Bangle owners as social responsibility advocates who’ve made a contribution to that fight.
South Africa Redoubles Efforts Against AIDS
South Africa has the highest HIV/AIDS rate in Africa, and has begun an aggressive campaign to combat this disease, which currently sees new infections of 1,500 a day.

President Jacob Zuma appealed to all South Africans to be tested for HIV, leading by example and publicly sharing the (negative)results of his own HIV test.
With an estimated 5.7 million HIV-positive citizens, South Africa has directed funding towards the testing, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS on a scale that United Nations officials say is the largest and fastest expansion of AIDS services ever attempted by any nation. Silindelokuhle Biyela is a widowed nurse who works at a clinic in a remote village of Kwa-Zulu Natal. “The nation is dying”, she said. “The people are dying. But we are going to try to help them.”

World Excitement Builds for Soccer Event in South Africa
We can hear the cheers from here … Viva, Bafana Bafana, Viva! South Africa is only weeks away from hosting the prestigious World Cup, kicking off in Johannesburg and Cape Town on June 11th.
This is the first time the world’s biggest sporting event will be held in Africa, and the host country is immensely proud and excited to be put on the world stage for “The Beautiful Game”. It’s a positive story all round as South Africa enjoys the impact of the World Cup. Tourism and retail will thrive from the thousands of international visitors. The improved infrastructure (buildings, roads, transportation systems) is a lasting benefit to all South Africans. And there’s a sense of unity and national pride not seen at this level in South Africa since the 1995 World Cup rugby.
People visiting South Africa for the World Cup are being encouraged to see more than just the soccer matches – taking the opportunity to explore this vibrant and beautiful country, and learn more about its history and its people.
FIFA bought a number of silver 46664 Bangles as special gifts for the FIFA executive committee, along with a letter signed by Mr. Sepp Blatter and Mr. Nelson Mandela. With support from local sports stars and artists, as well as events and campaigns planned to promote the 46664 Bangle project, we hope visitors will be inspired to take home a little piece of Africa in the form of a 46664 Bangle. Gorgeous and Glamorous. Dashing and Debonair. At Hollywood’s most glittering and anticipated evening of the year, the Academy Awards®, there was an extra sparkle on the red carpet tonight. As celebrities showed off their couture outfits, sleek hairstyles and dazzling fashionable accessories, two particular items of jewelry attracted special attention.

The custom-made 46664 Bangle made its debut last night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as Morgan Freeman showed the custom-made 46664 Bangle which he’ll be wearing at the Oscars. All the bracelets bear a digital imprint of Nelson Mandela’s hand, and are being referred to as the “South African Bracelet for Hope”.

Also on display was the silver 46664 Bangle which he wears regularly, the bracelet that anyone can buy and support the 46664 Bangle project. Speaking about the movie Invictus in the interview, did Nelson Mandela like the film? Freeman says, “We showed it to him at the Foundation … and I’m right next to him, watching him watch me be him. He smiled a lot and nodded and he seemed to like it.” But one of his greatest compliments came when Nelson Mandela’s long-time personal assistant heard Morgan Freeman talking on set – as Freeman says, “I got the best compliment … she thought when she came on the set first time, that Madiba was there”.

The official photographs of the special-edition, 46664 Bangles are in and we’re showing them off! The spectacular bracelets were designed by world-class jeweler, Sabine Roemer, for the 2010 Oscars.

Spectacular, African Daisy inspired, 46664 Bangle
World-class jeweler, Sabine Roemer, has designed two spectacular ‘Invictus-edition’ 46664 Bangles to be worn by Morgan Freeman and Movie Producer, Lori McCreary, at this year’s 82 Annual Academy Awards.
The ‘African Daisy 46664 Bangle’ bracelet is made from 18ct yellow gold in an African Daisy design scattered with emeralds and white diamonds and engraved with ‘Invictus’ and 46664.
The ‘Invictus 46664 Bangle’ platinum bangle bracelet engraved with 46664 and decorated with emeralds and black diamonds is inscribed with ‘Invictus’ and ’46664′.
Both special-edition 46664 Bangles will be auctioned off for charity at a later date. Anyone can support the 46664 Bangle project by buying their own bangle in copper, silver, gold or platinum.
